For Post Code : 2705 (Deputy Registrar) : E.Q.: (1) A Master‟s degree with at least 55% marks or its equivalent grade of B in the UGC seven point scale; (2) Nine years‟ experience as Assistant Professor in a college/University with experience in educational administration OR Comparable experience in research establishment and/or other institution of higher education OR Five years‟ administrative experience as Assistant Registrar or equivalent post.

Post Code 3101 (Project Officer) E.Q: M.A. in any subject of Social Science or M.Sc. in Agriculture, or M.A. in Rural Development in any related discipline from any Indian University Ph.D. in any subject related to Herbal Medicines, Ayurveda, Rural Development.

Post Code 3102 (Maintenance Engineer) E.Q: (1)M.Sc. in Physics with Spl. in Electronics or M.Sc. in Electronics or B.E./B.Tech. Electronics Engg./Electronics Instrumentation. (2) At least 3 years‟ experience of maintenance and repair of Electronic equipment in scientific organization of repute. For Post Code 3103 to 3105 (Assistant Director of Physical Education) E.Q: i. A Master‟s Degree in Physical Education or Master‟s Degree in Sports Science with at least 55% marks (or an equivalent grade in a point scale wherever grading system is followed) with a consistently good academic record. ii. Record of having represented the university/college at the inter-university/intercollegiate competitions or State and/or national championships. iii. Qualifying in the national level test conducted for the purpose by the UGC or any other agency approved by the UGC. iv. Passed the physical fitness test conducted in accordance with these Regulations. v. However, candidates who are, or have been awarded Ph. D. degree in accordance with the “UGC (Minimum Standards and Procedure for Award of Ph.D. Degree), Regulations 2009, shall be exempted from the requirement of minimum eligibility condition of NET/SLET/SET for recruitment and appointment of University Assistant Director of Physical Education.

Post Code 3108 (Dy. Keeper- Display) E.Q: 1. M.A. Second Class in History/ Museology/ M.A. Architecture & Planning/History of Arts/Fine Arts/ AIHC & Archaeology or equivalent qualification. (2) Two years, P.G. Diploma OR M.A. in Museology or Archaeology subject. (3) Five years working experience in a curatorial position in a museum of standing or similar institute.

Post Code 3109 (Pracharya/Principal) E.Q: (a) Second Class Master‟s Degree with not less than 50% marks. (b) A Degree or Post Graduate Degree in Education or equivalent duly approved by the NCTE from a recognized University. (c) At least 10 years‟ experience in Educational Institutions including at least 7 years‟ teaching experience at Senior Secondary or Higher level in recognized institutions and minimum 3 years‟ experience in educational administration. The three years’ experience in educational administration will be defined as: (i) As Principal/Headmaster of a High School/Higher Secondary School/Inter College/Degree College OR (ii) As Vice-Principal of a Higher Secondary School/Inter College/Degree College, Head of Department in a Degree College/University/Teachers Training College OR (iii) As House Master in public/Sainik School or as Officer in Army Education Corps OR (iv) As a Vice Principal in Kendriya Vidyalaya/University run schools for 3 years or more OR (v) As Vice Principal and/or as PGT in Kendriya Vidyalaya/University run schools for at least 15 years OR (vi) As Vice Principal and/or as PGT in Kendriya Vidyalaya/University run schools for at least 10 years in case of those who have passed the departmental examinations. Age Limit: 35-50 years relaxable to OBC/SC/ST, discharged defense personnel and employees of BHU as per rules.
For Post Code 1025 to 1027 (PGT) E.Q: 1. Second Class Master's Degree in the relevant subject with not less than 50% marks from a recognized University with B.Ed. or its equivalent Degree duly approved by NCTE from a recognized University. For Music, Physical Education and Drawing B.Ed. or its equivalent degree is not compulsory. 2. Competence to teach both through Hindi & English medium.

Post Code 2047 (TGT) E.Q: (1) Second Class Bachelor's Degree with not less than 50% marks in aggregate including elective subjects and language with B.Ed. or equivalent Degree duly recognized by NCTE from a recognized University or Pass in the Teachers Eligibility Test (TET) conducted by the appropriate government in accordance with the guidelines framed by the NCTE for the purpose. (2) Competence to teach through both Hindi and English medium. Age Limit: Maximum age limit for PGT is 40 years and for TGT is 35 years, relaxable by 5 years for SC/ST and 3 years for OBC candidates. 10 years age relaxation for all posts of PGTs, TGTs, at par with KVS norms is allowed over and above the prescribed limit in respect of Women candidates.

Post Code 4295 (Staff Nurse) E.Q: (1) B. Sc. (Nursing)/Diploma in Nursing qualified Staff Nurse of Indian nationality registered with the respective State Nursing Council of India. (2) 6 months (with B.Sc. Nursing) or 1 year (with Diploma in Nursing) working experience as a Staff Nurse in a Govt./Corporate Hospital of repute. (D.Q.: -Only for the posts in the Paediatric Surgery: (1) Working experience in any superspeciality/critical care area in a Government/Corporate Hospital of repute. (2) Preference to the candidate having working experience in Paediatric Surgery/Paediatrics/ Neonatal Surgery ICU/ICU in a Govt./Corporate Hospital of repute.)

For Post Code 4306 (Senior Lab Asstt-Stores) E.Q: (1) B.Sc (2) 05 years‟ experience in managing stores (3) Proficiency in typing (4) Working knowledge of Computer.

General Instructions to the Candidates:

1. Online mode of submission of applications shall be essential. 2. There is a common online recruitment form for all the positions. 3. Applicants shall first register on the Recruitment & Assessment Cell portal on the BHU website, after which, they can fill up the prescribed electronic application form online. 4. Separate applications shall be submitted for different positions. 5. Before starting to fill up the form, please ensure keeping ready a digital copy of passport size photograph in JPEG format not exceeding 50 kb in file size and digital copies of some best publications, if any, for up-loading. 6. Filling all mandatory fields is required to make your application Complete. 7. Incomplete applications will not be considered and will be REJECTED. 8. While filling the online application, if your browser closes unexpectedly or if you are logged out, please use the login information sent to your email to login again. 9. In case of any technical problems, please send an email to bhu.recruitment@gmail.com. 10. There are several Tabs in your application. After completing each tab, you should click on “Save and Proceed” button to move to the next tab. Completing all tabs is necessary. After filling all tabs, the candidate can finally submit his application. Please note that you cannot make any changes after that. 11. On successful submission, the applicant will come across a link to download a PDF of the application, which he/she will have to print and send to BHU after signing it and having it forwarded by his employer, if any, with the requisite application fee, so as to reach BHU by the cutoff date/ last date. 12. Mere eligibility will not entitle any candidate for being called for interview. More stringent criteria may be applied for short-listing the candidates to be called for interview. Applicants having higher qualification and merit will be given preference. 13. The Ordinances governing the procedure to be followed by the Selection Committee may be seen on the portal of the Recruitment & Assessment Cell on the BHU website. 14. A Relaxation of 5% may be provided at the Graduate and Master's level for the SC/ST/Differently-abled (Physically and Visually differently abled) categories for the purpose of eligibility and for assessing good academic record. The relaxation of 5% to the categories mentioned above are permissible, based on only the qualifying marks without including any grace mark procedures. 15. The University shall verify the antecedents or documents submitted by a candidate at the time of appointment or during the tenure of the service. In case, it is detected that the documents submitted by the candidates are fake or the candidate has a clandestine antecedents/ background and has suppressed the said information, then his/her services shall be terminated. 16. The University reserves the right to withdraw any advertised post(s) at any time without giving any reason. Any consequential vacancies arising at the time of interview may also be filled up from the available candidates. The number of positions is thus open to change. The University may relax the qualification/ experience and age limit at its discretion at any stage in case of candidates with exceptional merit. The University may, at its discretion, fill up any future vacancy belonging to Gen./SC/ST/OBC as per roster point out of the available candidates. Therefore, all categories of applicants are advised to apply against any advertised post. 17. In case of any inadvertent mistake in the process of selection which may be detected at any stage even after the issue of appointment letter, the University reserves right to modify/withdraw/cancel any communication made to the candidate. 18. In case of any dispute/ambiguity that may occur in the process of selection, the decision of the University shall be final. 19. Applicants who are in employment should route their application through proper channel or should submit a "No Objection Certificate" from the employer prior to the interview, failing which they may not be considered further. 20. Candidates must send self-attested copies of certificates and mark-sheets from matriculation (10th Standard) onwards in support of their qualifications and reprints of publications and certificates in support of their API score claimed (for teaching positions) for the post alongwith the hard copy of the application form. 23. Candidates are advised to satisfy themselves before applying that they possess at least the minimum essential qualifications laid down in the advertisement. 24. Canvassing in any form will be a disqualification. 25. No interim correspondence shall be entertained. 26. Signed printout of application alongwith the relevant enclosures shall reach the Office of Registrar (Recruitment & Assessment Cell), Holkar House, Banaras Hindu University, Varanasi-221 005 by the cutoff date/ Last Date will be considered in the current round of selection.

Teaching Positions only:

1. Banaras Hindu University is following the UGC Regulations on Minimum Qualifications for Appointment of Teachers and Other Academic Staff in Universities and Colleges and Measures for the Maintenance of Standards in Higher Education 2010 (hereinafter referred as UGC Regulations 2010) which have come in force w.e.f. 30-6-2010. Accordingly, for teachers in the Faculties of Agriculture and Veterinary Science, the norms/regulations of Indian Council of Agricultural Research; for Faculty of Medicine, Dentistry, Nursing and AYUSH, the norms/Regulations of Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, Government of India; for Faculty of Education, the norms/Regulations formulated in consultations with National Council of Teacher Education; for Engineering and Technology, Pharmacy and Management/Business Administration, the norms/Regulations formulated in consultations with All India Council for Technical Education; and the qualifications in the field of rehabilitation and special education at Degree, PG Diploma and Masters level, the norms/Regulations formulated in consultations with Rehabilitation Council of India, shall apply. 2. The composite rolling advertisement will remain alive all the time and will be updated every time when a new vacancy is created or when the earlier advertised positions are filled up by selection. The prospective applicants, therefore, can apply anytime of the year, but the applications will be processed after the cutoff dates indicated beforehand on the website. 3. Relevant grade which is regarded as equivalent of 55% wherever the grading system is followed by a recognized University shall also be considered eligible. 4. A relaxation of 5% may be provided, from 55% to 50% of the marks to the Ph.D. degree holders, who have obtained their Master's Degree prior to 19th September, 1991. 5. NET/SLET/SET shall be a mandatory requirement for appointment to the post of Assistant Professor. Those having Ph.D. degree fulfilling the requirements of UGC Regulations, 2009 shall be exempted from clearing the NET/SET/SLET. 6. There shall be two cutoff dates in a calendar year, 6 months apart. The applications received till the cutoff date shall be processed further for shortlisting and conduct of selection committee. Application received after the cutoff date shall be processed further during the next round of selection process subject to the condition that the vacancy continues in the composite rolling advertisement after completion of the selection process in hand. However, the University can further process even the applications received after the aforesaid prescribed cutoff date for the ensuing round of selection, from Candidates who obtain a "Quality Score" of 70 or above on a 100 point scale. For description of quality score, please refer to the shortlisting guidelines. 7. For teaching positions short-listing shall be done as per guidelines approved by Executive Council of the University. 8. The eligibility of an application shall be determined in accordance with the UGC Regulations, 2010. The eligibility of the candidate for a particular round of selection shall be decided as on the cutoff date of that round. 9. There shall not be any application fee. 10. Applicants may update their qualifications and other academic achievements etc. by logging-in on the portal using their login ID and password till their application is finally decided upon. However, such update shall be taken into account in the current round of short-listing (for updating API/Quality Score) in respect of those applicants only whose applications were found eligible on the prescribed cut of date for that round of short-listing. 11. The shortlisted candidates shall be invited for a personal interaction and seminar presentation/performance. The performance in the personal interaction/ seminar will be evaluated by the FAC-I on a 10 point scale which will be available to the Selection Committee to help them in their decision.
